The Kiss by Gustav Klimt NFT Drop

Today, for the first time in the history of art, the world-famous masterpiece, The Kiss by Gustav Klimt, is joining the metaverse NFT space, and a part of it could be yours just in time for Valentine's Day 2022.

I always found The Kiss by Gustav Klimt as one of the most iconic masterpieces Austria has ever produced. As the final painting of Klimt's Gold Period, where he incorporated gold leaf into his works, the painting is thought to be the epitome of tenderness and passion as the woman willingly subjects herself to the man's kiss. Romantic, isn't it?

My husband and I trying to imitate art during the Austrian National Day celebration back in October 2018.

In this season of love, everyone is given a chance to own their very own digital masterpiece of The Kiss through an NFT Drop. So what exactly is an NFT?

First things first, I wanted to know more about NFT. Since this is the first time I'll be writing again since the pandemic, I'm admitting to living under a rock, like most of us have for the past 2 years. I hadn't come across this word until Advantage Austria Manila posted about it on social media, which piqued my interest.

NFT stands for Non-fungible token. This basically means having a piece of a one-of-a-kind digital asset that belongs to you and you alone that can't be replaced. An example of this is a virtual basketball card with the value set by the market and demand. The virtual basketball card has the same value as a physical basketball card. Currently, the most popular NFTs include artwork and music, even videos.

In Vienna, the Belvedere Museum is the first museum to start an NFT campaign pioneering its role in the global spectrum in cooperation with artèQ, a company of the Donau-Finanz Group, which was chosen to implement this globally unique project. Together, they present a new era of art collection, turning Gustav Klimt's artwork into NFTs. The Kiss NFT Drop on Valentine's Day 2022 is a chance to own a limited edition piece of the digitalized masterpiece and become a part of the metaverse history.

The Belvedere in Vienna is one of the leading museums worldwide. Its famous art collection includes works ranging from the Middle Ages to more contemporary pieces of today. Highlights of the museum include the world's most extensive collection of Gustav Klimt paintings and notable works from the periods of Viennese Biedermeier, Austrian Baroque, Vienna around 1900, and French Impressionism. The Belvedere Museum and artèQ converted digital editions of The Kiss using state-of-the-art technology, bringing out details invisible to the naked eye in each NFT. The digital artwork is broken down into 10,000 tiles, each with distinctive coordinates and dedicated numbers. The tiles will be minted one by one as unique NFTs, and each individual piece will be randomly assigned as exclusive NFTs. Every token has an imprinted number highlighting the digitalized masterpiece corresponding to a digital certificate.

As a remarkable gesture of love or to simply add a distinctive personal touch, the buyer can add a dedication to the NFT and have the possibility to immortalize The Kiss NFT tile forever.

There isn't a better way to show your love and affection than dedicating a piece of a world-famous masterpiece to that special someone.

Still don't know what to give your loved one this Valentine's Day? Then check out Gustav Klimt The Kiss NFT Drop and get a chance to own the masterwork of one of Austria's greatest artists, Gustav Klimt.
